Whiskers, Wings & Other Things, LLC. — Caring for pets & where they live.

About Us

Whiskers, Wings and Other Things began in 1996 when "Carol and Grandma Claire" relocated to Kingston Springs from Florida and sought an opportunity to serve their community and its pets. As a client with six dogs, I often employed WWOT, enjoying the convenience of leaving the pups home and treasuring the special care and attention they received. I was thrilled to purchase WWOT in 1999 and continue this legacy.

While a student at the University of Wisconsin studying environmental policy and conservation biology in the 90s, I adopted Elly and so began my "animal odyssey". Elly is a doberman/lab mix, now 13 years old, and our pack alpha. I am an experienced veterinary assistant and have been active in canine rescue since 1995, rehoming over 100 dogs from ditches, roadsides, and neglectful or abusive homes. My husband Scott and I have special interests in mixed breed rescue, pet nutrition and behavior modification.

Scott and I live in Kingston Springs with our canine pack and two-legged children, Graeden and Quentin. Our business office is in our home, enabling us to balance family and business life and facilitating business communication and management. I personally meet each client, manage scheduling and oversee nearly every detail of WWOT though I officially retired from being a pet sitter following the birth of Quentin in February 2008. Scott and I remain the backup sitters in case of illness or absence.

Since 2004, we have been assisted by fantastic staff in meeting the needs of our 130 clients in South Cheatham County. Each client is assigned to one of our staff based on their location and sitting schedule. These fine ladies were carefully chosen, experienced with animals, and have been a vital part of the WWOT family for years. They truly understand the responsibility and privilege of caring for animals, and attempt to do so as if each pet were their own. All sitters are bonded and WWOT is insured. The company is a member of Pet Sitters International. References are available upon request. We look forward to serving you!

Personnel

Vicki W.
Administrative Assistant

Vicki is a lifelong social worker, enjoying retirement quilting, being grandmother to Graeden and Quentin, and generously serving as WWOT's office personality. Vicki answers the phone, handles email communication, and coordinates the sitters' schedules. She is mom to Leslie and Lexus, a 12 year old Shiba Inu saved from euthanasia by Leslie.

Angela G.
Sitter, Pegram

Angela is such a "mom" that when her son went to college, she added two lab pups to her home and came to work spoiling others' pets. She and her husband, Mark, are extraordinarily caring and conscientious people and often team sit in the evenings. When not walking their three dogs, caring for their cats, riding their Harley, or cooking for and serving others, they enjoy showering pets with extra TLC.

Judy T.
Sitter, Ranchettes

Judy is a longtime client of WWOT that joined forces with us in 2004 after retiring from her corporate job in client services. Judy and her gorgeous Lhasa, Joy, live in the Ranchettes and serve that area primarily. Judy holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is very involved in her church. She is our resident early-riser and enjoys staying active pet and house sitting. Dogs love her and fall for her silly antics everytime!

Stephanie D.
Sitter, Kingston Springs

By day, Stephanie is a facilities manager at a large music business corporation. Weeknights and weekends often find her in "pet clothes" cruising Kingston Springs pet sitting. We met when WWOT began caring for her 8 cats and 4 dogs in 2000 (all rescues). We share a passion for animal rescue, pet nutrition, natural health and behavior modification. Steph is our resident cat charmer and expert and one of the best I've ever encountered.
